Preview: Vampire Diaries

The CW's bloody teen-soap Vampire Diaries is getting some good hype for it's coming fall premiere. With the success of all things vampire these days, I don't imagine much going wrong for all those involved. Around upfronts time the network released a few short clips but there's now an extended clip that's painting a broader (and better) view of the show.

My initial thoughts based on the clip? Early One Tree Hill with fangs. Dueling brothers in a small town, one good, one bad, cute girls, bad soundtrack, high school angst and even crows - they've got it all. And that's not a bad thing.

Also discovered today (via The Televixen), some sexy new ads for the show. The design is very CW, reminiscent of Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill ads from the past.

They are not, however, in the same format as other official CW ads for the 2009 Fall season, so no idea if they're fan work or legit. See what you think:
